Atika started off as a journalist for The Hindu before she moved to CNN-IBN. She also started writing for television and co-wrote Chhapak, the infamous movie that talks about the acid attack on Laxmi Agarwal with Meghna Gulzar. She has always refused writing degrading movies about women or even a scene that could degrade a woman and that has always been her pride at the job that she does.
